Capitol’s got Capital Cities covered

Now that Capitol Records has given the Universal Music Group treatment, UMG parent Vivendi has released Capital Cities’ new single Safe and Sound, off their self-titled debut CD.

Universal Music’s Lucian Grainge says, “Capital Cities are an important part of Capitol/Universal’s expanded roster of musical artistry, and everyone at UMG are excited to bring the techno-pop duo to Capitol’s roster of artists recording new music with  a strong heritage and diverse array of musical genres that Capitol prides itself on.”

Safe and Sound is Capital Cities’ first release on Capitol Records. Capitol/Universal is expected to reach a million-copy milestone for the duo’s recording debut in many parts of the world, where Universal Music Group handles offshore sales outside the U.S.
